Get Involved

Become an active participant in the ecosystem can be a rewarding journey! Here are a few suggestions about getting started contributing to Polkadot.

Engage in a public discussion forum

  1. The Polkadot Forum is the main discussion board (β€œtown square”) for Polkadot where ideas are posted and discussed.
  2. Join the main Polkadot Discord to ask questions and discuss various topics like community, staking, the Ambassador program, etc.
  3. The Polkadot Direction forum on Matrix is the main chatroom.
  4. KusDAO is an open community dedicated to discussions around Polkadot governance (OpenGov).

Become a Polkadot Ambassador

The Polkadot Ambassador program is currently under construction. Watch this page to be notified when it is ready for applications!

Create Polkadot content

Content educates others on what Polkadot is and how to use it, and is shared from your unique perspective. Start to share your learning journey or perspective about Polkadot on X, YouTube, TikTok or other platforms. This can be a great way to start to spread the word.

Host a meetup or event

A meetup or event is a great way to get like-minded curious people together and educate them about the latest developments in Polkadot.

Both the meetup bounty and the events bounty in Polkadot can help fund costs for running Polkadot-focused meetups and events.

Polkadot Roots Program

Polkadot Roots

Apply to the new Polkadot Roots initiative about building a grassroots community for Polkadot in your area.

Secure the network by running a validator

Resilience of the network comes from decentralization - and that means individuals and teams running nodes distributed all over the world. A node on the blockchain (e.g. a validator) is basically a server either in the cloud or hosted in a datacenter that helps to keep the blockchain running.

Build on Polkadot

Learn and build smart contracts or blockchains that deploy to and are secured by Polkadot.

Attend the Polkadot Blockchain Academy (PBA)

The PBA is an intensive technical education course teaching the core concepts around blockchain and Polkadot, including economics, game theory, cryptography, blockchain, and building on Polkadot. It is part online (PBA-X) and part in-person. The next class will start in early 2025.

Submit a Treasury Proposal

Get funding for your idea to help grow Polkadot. This can be development, marketing, business development or any other activity that helps the DAO.
